I got to this movie after noticing the high IMDB score. It is a comedy about a couple who seek counseling to save their marriage and turn their fights into songs after discovering they both enjoy the particular activity. So they start a band named ‘The Dirty Dishes’.
The songs are really quirky and meaningful and the couple’s way back into love is as realistic as it gets. Fred Armisen shines as the band’s drummer and also the couple’s crazy yet mature neighbor.
My favorite part is how the movie tries to break stereotypes with the wife working as Uber driver, with the mother-in-law being the sensible counselor and the husband asking for compliments on his appearance.
All in all, with the crisp dialogue and the decent acting, the movie makes a good one time watch. You will relate more if you are married.
